CELTIC left it very late to secure all three points at McDermid Park. The home side thought they had snatched a point at the death, but there was still one more twist before the full time whistle blow.
It was a massive result for Celtic on the day. They dominated but again, didn’t turn that dominance into goals. The game sat precariously at 1-0 most of the second half when St Johnstone managed to grab an equaliser. The sinking feeling among Celtic fans was palpable.

The last attack of the game would be St Johnstone’s undoing. However, we’re not sure what Drey Wright is doing during the sequence. The St Johnstone player seems to over react to the ball hitting off his foot, he then starts spinning around and comically falls to the ground.
A cynic would say Wright was attempting to get the referee to stop play and Celtic’s advancing attack by going down ‘injured’. It completely backfired as Celtic advanced and Giakoumakis got the goal.
You can even see Wright at the booth of the screen watching the play unfold and the ball hitting the back of the net.
Wright could have helped track back to stop the cross from going in at all. It’s on him he decided to make the choice to go down.
Celtic remains two points clear at the top of the SPFL after Saturday’s fixtures.
