UEFA Rumours Circulate; Celtic Decision

It’s being reported both Glasgow clubs will be given the option to postpone their next Champions League fixture after the death of Queen Elizabeth this week.

The longest reigning monarch passed away on Thursday afternoon and the UK are now in an official ten days of mourning.

The Glasgow Times reports Celtic will be given the option to postpone the Shakhtar game on Wednesday, rather than it be a mandatory postponement — but UEFA has yet to instruct either Glasgow club.

Daily Mail correspondent Mike Keegan has branded it inconceivable EPL games would go ahead this weekend on social media, and it’s expected the SPFL will be shutdown.

We’ve yet to receive confirmation, but it’s expected soon.

The World Cup half way through the season has already caused a fixture jam, this will further add to that problem, especially if more than one of our games are postponed.

Celtic are playing a Ukrainian side in the Champions League — a country at war with Russia. I’d hope if it was Celtic’s choice to play the game on Wednesday, they would do so.
