“We Can’t Stand Still” Ange Postecoglou Delivers Transfer Update

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has revealed there could be some new incomings this week as the Hoops gear up for Champions League group stage action next month.

It’s understood that Sead Haksabanovic is closing in on a Parkhead move, with a final fee with Rubin Kazan the only thing left to agree upon. All going well, his arrival should be confirmed by Celtic this week, with Ange Postecoglou confirming a deal is close.

As quoted by the Glasgow Times, the boss warned that the club are very much still in the rebuild phase and is refusing to allow the club to stand still. It’s pleasing to hear this from the manager, with fans frustrated with the club ‘falling asleep at the wheel’ in recent years.

“Yeah, there is a possibility [of players coming in this week],” Postecoglou said.

“We can’t stand still. We’re still building.

“Every now and then I’ll glance at the diary and if you go back 12 months from today, you’re going to have a very different picture of what our football club looked like.

“We’ve made a hell of a lot of progress, but we’re still at the beginning.

“I’m still building a team, building a game style, building an environment. There’s still work to be done.

“Just because you have had success or it looks like things are going well, that’s not the time to stand still.

“I still know there’s a lot of work to be done. My ambitions for this football club are very strong in terms of making sure we are the best we can be.

“So, we’ll continue to strengthen with the guys we’ve got, but if opportunities come along to bring people in who I think will help us on that journey, then I’ll bring them in.”

Celtic are going to keep getting better and better; they’re going to be hard to catch. They’re not untouchable at the top of the league table; Ange Postecoglou will reiterate this to his players.

The squad is far from perfect; Ange will keep tinkering away for the rest of his time at Celtic. A few Celtic exits have to take place yet, with some deadwood sitting in the squad wasting some of the wages.
