Ange Postecoglou has addressed speculation linking Matt O’Riley with a move away from the club.
Matt only signed for Celtic in January, but he’s made a big impact in the green and white hoops already.
As we get geared towards the new season, the midfielder could be a pivotal player for Ange’s side over the next 12 months. The mainstream media are crediting Brendan Rodgers and Leicester with an interest in the Danish under 21.
When asked about the potential of Matt leaving or him just being linked with transfer out of Glasgow, the Celtic manager seemed unmoved.

“I’m not seeing anything from Matt to suggest he’s thinking about these things. The players know why big clubs might come in for them. It’s not because we’ve given them publicity – it’s the work they do, day in and day out.”
“He established himself at first team level at MK Dons and then with us. He’s just beginning his career. We’ll push him to be the best he can possibly be, as we do with all of them, because that’s what’s required here.”
Ange rarely gives the media a headline and this isn’t any different. There’s no panic from the manager and nothing to write home about as far as the Celtic manager is concerned.
The Australian shoots straight and doesn’t give the usual fluff answers to questions. Matt is a Celtic player, he’s enjoying it and there’s been no official approaches for him.
Celtic are close to getting their season underway. The bhoys play Norwich on Saturday then have over a week to prepare for the start of the SPFL campaign. Matt will likely start on Flag day and be an important player going forward.
