Aberdeen has announced that fans will be provided with free transport for home games, announcing a partnership with First Bus.
Fans will be able to travel on First Bus to and from a home match for free, as the cost of living dramatically increases. With fuel at an all-time high, it’s become too expensive for some fans to travel to the games.

German teams have something similar, with match tickets allowing free transport on all forms of public transport.
It’s something that Celtic should be looking into, especially with Parkhead a good walk from the city centre. Already, in Scotland, under 25s and over 60s are entitled to free bus travel, but a large section of the Celtic fans will be made to pay.
It makes sense for Celtic to explore this option, especially with the travel to the stadium becoming suddenly costly.
Celtic Park’s Transport Links
Currently, Celtic Park’s transfer links aren’t fit for purpose. There are a few bus routes around the stadium with some train stations a ten-minute walk away.
Many fans travel on supporter buses and use their own cars.
If Celtic was to introduce a transport package, the services would need to be improved, with public transport already packed before and after games.
It’s something that Celtic should look into, but it’s unlikely the club will do anything in the near future.
