Celtic will take on Legia Warsaw later this month after being invited by the club to celebrate Artur Boruc’s career.
The former Celtic goalkeeper has hung up his gloves, but will go in goals one last time during a match in his honour.
When you talk about Artur getting a send off, Celtic should rightfully be involved. His career at the Hoops was fantastic and he’s still talked about fondly to this day.
The Polish goalkeeper was signed from Legia by Gordon Strachan back in the day and quickly made himself number one at the club. As you find with a lot of goalkeepers, he was a bit mad, and Celtic fans loved him for it.
As the two sides get set to meet in the friendly tie, Legia have released a limited edition Artur Boruc tee. Artur sporting the new shirt for the Legia social media page.
We could see a few Celtic fans grabbing one of these.
Artur has had a great career and he still supports Celtic from afar. As for the game itself, there will be an edge to it from a spectators point of view. There’s still some hard feelings from some Legia fans after the club were kicked out of Europe for fielding an ineligible player against Celtic.
