CARL STARFELT suffered what looks to be a serious injury during Sweden’s win against Slovenia on Thursday night.
The Hoops defender was handed his first competitive start for his county and it ended with him behind stretchered off the pitch.
Celtic fans are rightly concerned — even though there is plenty of time for Carl to recover before pre-season — watching their man in serious pain will have Celtic worried.
Carl’s update doesn’t sound very positive either and confirms he’s undergoing a scan to see the damage: [SunSport]
“I felt a stabbing pain in my back so I had to go off.
“We’ll see what it is, but it doesn’t look very bright. If I’m lucky, the X-ray may not show anything & I can recover in a few days, but right now I don’t see it as very likely.”

Celtic are due back on June 27 — although we can’t confirm if the international bhoys will get an extra week due to their participation for their countries.
Either way — Ange Postecoglou will certainly be checking in with the Swede to find out where he’s at. The Celtic manager is on holiday in Greece at the moment but has admitted many times he rarely takes a day off and is constantly working behind the scenes.
Let’s hope it’s not too bad.
