Ally McCoist Worried Ahead of Glasgow Derby

ALLY MCCOIST is the latest Ibrox man to admit his nerves heading into the Glasgow Derby, claiming a defeat for his beloved club is ‘unthinkable’.

Celtic face their foes after the international break has come to a close. The sides also meet later in the month at Hampden before going head to head at Paradise after the split.

The encounters are set to be season-defining. If Celtic win at Ibrox and Hampden, the Ibrox side’s season is over.

Of course, Celtic already hold a three-point advantage at the top of the table, but even if they were to lose on the 3rd, they would still occupy the top spot with a much healthier goal difference.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Rangers striker said;

“I don’t think Rangers can afford to get beat.

Postecoglou has done a great job at Celtic and they’ve put themselves in a very good position. There’s three games coming up in the next month or so, if you include the Scottish Cup semi-final, so there won’t be a dull moment north of the border, particularly in the Glasgow area.

“But, from Rangers’ point of view, defeat is unthinkable as I think it would make the gap far too big.”

Already, Kris Boyd has confessed that Celtic are favourites to lift the SPFL trophy in May. There are a good few games to go before then, but Celtic do look the more likely out of the top two.
