CELTIC defeated Dundee United on Monday night to progress to the next round of the Scottish Cup. Shortly after the match, Celtic drew the Ibrox club in the competition’s semi-final.
The games will be played over the Easter Weekend, and the dates are still to be confirmed. This will depend on the Rangers progressing into the next round of Europe. If they do maintain their advantage against Red Star Belgrade, which is likely, Celtic will likely meet their rivals on Easter Sunday, the 17th of April.
Giovanni Van Bronkhorst’s side travels to Serbia on Thursday to defend a three goal lead; if they do so, they will reach to quarter-finals of the competition. The dates that these ties will be played on are the 7th and 14th of April.
This could benefit Celtic, with a Glasgow Derby on each side of the quarter-final dates.
