ANGE POSTECOGLOU was asked if he’d be looking for more goalscoring magic from Giakoumakis on Thursday night after hitting a hat-trick against Dundee at the weekend.
Instead of leaning into the question, Ange made it clear he wasn’t sending the Greek striker out with any extra expectation than what’s on any striker’s shoulders during a game of football.
The Celtic manager rightly reaffirmed his belief this team is a collective and there are goals all over the park.
Ange Postecoglou told[Celtic Youtube]: “Again, that’s not our approach.
“Our approach has always been that we get goals from multiple avenues. Giako scored three goals but, for the whole season, the goals have been shared around. That’s going to be the key tomorrow, it’s not about just one person.
“The reason we score so many goals is that we’ve got multiple avenues of goal threat, and that’ll be our approach again tomorrow. Because that’s our approach every week.”
Celtic have to get their shooting boots on in the second leg of their conference league tie against Bodo. The bhoys didn’t cover themselves in glory at Celtic Park and they now have an uphill battle with a 3-1 deficit to claw back.
There are goals in this side for sure, but we need to be as resolute at the back as well as have the attacking impetus to take this game all the way.
It’s going to be interesting to see what the outcome will be. Bodo have had another week to prepare for this game and will be ready to frustrate and then attack Celtic.
If Giako wants to pitch in with another hat-trick – I won’t stop him!
