CELTIC are locked in discussions with the Everdivise side Fortuna Sittard over a potential loan deal for Ismailia Soro. [Football Scotland]
So far, discussions have been positive. Both clubs have agreed that the Dutch side will pay under half of the Ivory Coast player’s wages. Celtic are pushing for an option-to-buy clause to be included as part of the deal.
Soro had been the subject of talks with the New York Red Bulls but a move did not surface.
Celtic are allowing the player to leave the club this month, despite injuries and suspensions weakening the midfield significantly.
Many clubs from around Europe and America are keeping tabs on the player and are watching negotiations in case of a breakdown in talks.
Ismailia Soro looked to break into the Celtic Squad last season, however, the lack of discipline from the player has been a worry for fans and Ange Postecoglou.
If a move is to surface, it is almost certain James McCarthy will start Wednesday night’s derby.
