Celtic have been handed a Christmas gift by the Japanese international boss Hajime Moriyasu.
The manager has committed to ONLY calling up domestic J-League players in January for international duty – allowing Kyogo to stay in Glasgow and get a much needed break.
What’s more, Mainichi are reporting Hajime will allow any players heading out of the J-League to miss international duty too. Maeda and Hatate – two players heavily linked with Celtic are in the squad but would be allowed to drop out if the moved to Celtic.
There’s a winter break in Scotland in January after the Glasgow Derby, but Kyogo has already played half a season in Japan and then came straight to Celtic. There’s another long stretch of games before May – affording Kyogo and any other Japanese exports a break is a massive boost.
Kyogo has been a revelation at Celtic but Ange has been keen for the striker not to suffer any sort of burn out. This helps in that regard and could also be pivotal in new signings from the J-League settling into life at Celtic.
