Referee Announced for Pivotal Celtic Tie

CELTIC take on Aberdeen on Sunday at Pittodrie in a noon kick-off. The hoops are looking to turn the corner with their first win away from home this season.

However, before the travel north Celtic face the challenge of German Giants Bayer Leverkusen under the disco lights on Thursday.

The officiating list has been released and it reads as follows;

Referee – Bobby Madden
Assistant Referees – David McGeachie and David Doig
Fourth Official – Gavin Duncan

The refereeing standard in Scotland is not of the highest quality, and Bobby Madden demonstrated that in Celtic’s defeat to Hearts on their first day of the season.

Hearts overcame Celtic 2-1 but the fans of the Glasgow side were left angered by the decisions from the man in the middle.

The main one being a challenge on Callum McGregor which many viewed as a red card challenge, resulted in no punishment for Andy Halliday.

Let’s hope Madden has a better game as Celtic try to right the wrongs this Sunday.
