ANGE POSTECOGLOU has praised his striker Albian Ajeti for taking his chance at the weekend and recognises it’s difficult to get into a rhythm if you haven’t had much game time when you’re called upon.
The Celtic gaffer was very clever to send a message to the rest of his fringe players by highlight the opportunity Ajeti has at the moment.
Ange made it clear that if you continue to work hard in training and get your head down, the opportunity could come your way at any time.
Speaking to CelticTV the manager said:
“It’s an opportunity for Albi and he’s testament that if you work hard at training, you’ve got to be patient and wait for your opportunity to come. But if your opportunity comes, you take it. He did that and improved as the game went on.
“When you haven’t played for quite a while on a consistent basis, it’s hard to get a rhythm.”
There are a lot of fringe players in the side who could suddenly be thrusted into the limelight like Albian was at the weekend.
Cal Mac and Liel Abada being out of the Real Betis game gives other players opportunities to make their mark.
Ange is not looking to just build a team but a culture where everyone is working to their full potential and everyone sees worth in putting the work in while you’re a first team starter or on the periphery.
