Celtic’s Europa League group stages fixtures for the campaign ahead have been announced by UEFA this morning.
As reported by Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, along with the fixtures, he also gave fans an update on the possibility of away supporters attending these games.
Celtic kick off the group stages with an away fixture to Spain on the 16th of September to face Real Betis. Before coming back to Parkhead for two home fixtures in a row against Bayern Leverkusen and Ferencvaros.
Matchday three and four could be crucial for Celtic’s European hopes after Christmas, with a doubleheader against the Hungarian side, who many will remember from last seasons disastrous Champions League push. Strangely, both these games currently have a kick-off time of 17:45, but that is still to be officially confirmed.
Travelling to Germany on matchday five, the Hoops have the possible advantage of a home fixture to end the group, with Betis travelling to Glasgow.

As previously mentioned, UEFA updated fans on the possibility of away supporters attending games, stating that currently, it will be reviewed within the next few days and communicated. So at this stage, supporters are still advised not to book their trips away.
UEFA: “The current rule not to allow travelling fans at UEFA club competitions matches is currently being reviewed by UEFA and a subsequent decision will be communicated in the next days. We advise fans to not make any travel arrangements before a decision has been communicated.” https://t.co/fAo3KIZZXz

This group has the potential to be a tricky one with lots of interesting dynamics throughout.
Ange Postecoglou and his squad will relish that opportunity, though, with some good sides coming to Parkhead in the next few months.
