Greek Publication Claim Celtic Have Completed Striker Deal – Fee Agreed

GREEK publication Gazzetta are claiming Celtic have completed a deal for Venlo striker Giorgos Giakoumakis.

The club have been linked with the player over the past 72 hours with Werder Bremen also showing a big interest in the frontman who topped the Eredivisie scoring charts last season.

Celtic appear to be keen on another attacker coming in before the deadline but there’s nothing from sources closer to the club about this deal being completed at present.

The Greek publication do think it’s a done deal but we’ll wait and see how things pan out with this one.

Giakoumakis had a superb scoring season for his club Venlo last term but they were relegated at the end of last season. He’s now looking to move on and capitalise on what was a very good season for him on a personal level.

Before last season, the player was anything but prolific. It remains to be seen if he can replicate his form this season, whatever club he lands at.

UPDATE

Duncan Castles has claimed a few has been agreed but personal terms have still to be discussed.
