‘Ange Might Be Getting a Phone Call’ – Pundit Makes Dermot Desmond Claim

Tom English believes Ange Postecoglou might be getting a call from Dermot Desmond after admitting Celtic could be quicker at getting targets in the door.

It’s long been a complaint of the Celtic support. The club rarely plan ahead and go into vital qualifiers under prepared. You only have to look at our success rate or lack of success rate in qualifying for the group stages in the last ten years to know that.

English is clearly speaking from experience when he talks about Desmond’s displeasure when it comes to certain things at Celtic – the BBC journalist is never too far away from a negative comment about the club. On Monday evening he wrote this:

For context here is what Ange told Celtic TV on YouTube:

“We probably hesitated a couple of times and could have moved faster on some things.

“That hasn’t helped us. In normal circumstances these processes are fairly straightforward. Get a player, sign him, take him on a plane, take a photo and away he goes.”

I don’t think the manager is speaking out of turn at all and to suggest anything other than what he said would be insulting the fans intelligence.

Ange Postecoglou is coming across as a straight shooter and that will go a long way with supporters. If they believe the manager is feeding them lines, when things go wrong, the fans can turn very quickly.

Ange has been nothing but honest since he got here as far as we’re concerned. The new Celtic boss has shown a willingness to be transparent and give his honest appraisal as we go.

If he does get a call from Desmond, I hope they’re discussing transfers and not about anything the manager has said in a presser.
