Celtic Boss Confirms Duo Will Miss European Tie

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that both Kristoffer Ajer and Oliver Ntcham will miss tomorrow evening’s Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland.

As quoted by Glasgow Live, the 55-year old boss has said he will only be looking to players who have ‘both the physical and mental mindset to play’, confirming in his press conference when questioned about them that they won’t feature in the fixture.

“I am picking players who are available and have both the physical and mental mindset to play, Postecolgou said.

“The ones who aren’t listed are obviously not ready for what we need to encounter tomorrow night. My focus is on the guys who are on that list.

“There are so many moving parts at the moment that I am trying to be as disciplined as I can to focus on what’s in my control because ultimately tomorrow night is the most important thing, and I am focusing on people who are contributing to that.”

The Norweigan defender looks to have played his last game for the club as he nears closer to an exit with English Premier League side Brentford, agreeing a fee and completing a medical with the defender. So, it was always going to be unlikely that he would feature.

Ntcham is a little more of an unanswered one, with it being reported that the 25-year old wants to fight for his place at the club but hasn’t featured in the last two pre-season fixtures for Ange Postecoglou.

It is possible that he is carrying an injury issue with the former Socceroos manager’s comments. The Hoops are in desperate need of options in multiple positions, so Ange will likely be looking for the Frenchman to return soon.
