It was reported earlier on Monday Celtic had put in a bid for Sporting Lisbon right back, Valentin Rosier.
The right back is destined to leave the Portuguese club this summer and Celtic have been credited with a major interest.
Marseille have also been heavily linked with the 24-year-old – the French club having the advantage of offering Valentin football back in his home country.
Tonight Tutto Mercato journalist is claiming Spartak Moscow have now entered the race to sign the defender.
Gianluigi Longari claims the Russian side are in talks over taking the player on a permanent basis.

Another journalist claimed the Valentin would cost around €7m to any club interest in taking him from Lisbon.
The defender spent last season on loan to Besiktas. Celtic could be set to use some of the money they landed from Jeremie Frimpong to pay for any deal.
The right back position has little to no cover at the moment, Celtic really need a first team player ready to come in and hit the ground running. Can Valentin be that man?
