Celtic Drawn at Home First in the Champions League

The Champions League draw for the second round qualifiers were made on Wednesday afternoon and Celtic now know who they will face.

The Hoops will be up against FC Midtjylland.

The club have not qualified for the Champions League since Brendan Rodgers second season in charge of the club. In his third and final season, Rodgers failed to get us to the group stage and Neil Lennon failed twice to get us into the competition.

Given the scale of the rebuild and the lack of depth in our squad at the moment, Celtic fans are concerned another exit could be on the cards.

There is a chance to qualify for the Europa League if we fail in this round, and we’d automatically go into the Europa League if we win this round and go out in the next.

There’s no Champions route for Celtic this year so the competition is even harder. Ange Postecoglou would be doing well to get us to the playoff round under the circumstances.
