Leigh Griffiths Swap Deal; Can Celtic Pull a Fast One?

This isn’t a rumour or fact, but simply me thinking out loud.

Kevin Nisbet is beginning to announce himself to clubs outside Scotland with his international presence. Had Celtic managed to acquire a manager in the past three months, I would very much be an advocate of the new man bringing Nesbit into the fold.

The longer he goes on international duty, the more expensive he could become.

Leigh Griffiths has been surplus to requirements but his position at the club is affected by the same thing – no manager.

Is there a potential to move Leigh on this summer to Hibernian and see Kevin come the other way?

On the face of it, Hibernian and their fans will not fancy passing over their top young striker for a 30-year-old forward. But if pragmatism comes into play and they can get a fee plus a proven goalscorer in Leigh, would they be more open to the idea of getting a ready made replacement for next season knowing full well Nesbit will likely head off at some point over the next 12 months.

The forward has the attributes to be a top SPFL striker and if we’re not careful the English clubs fishing in our waters will swoop in and take another player away to do damage down south.

Nesbit is by no means the finished article but he could be the start of any new rebuild.
