Opinion: Amber Alert Makes Celtic Arrival Imminent

We are not hanging our hat on any manager being appointed at Celtic until it’s in black and white. The Eddie Howe fiasco has shown us, even when the noises from the club are resoundingly positive, it doesn’t make it so.

Celtic have been quiet since Friday and the media have been doing their best to tout Ange Postocglou as a viable alternative to Eddie Howe.

Let’s say he is the next Celtic manager, for arguments sake.

Right now, Ange resides in Japan which means if he comes to this country in the next week, he needs to self isolate for ten days.

The latest Government guidelines require this from people who travel into the UK from Japan who are currently on the amber list.

Meaning Celtic need to get the manager flown over as soon as possible so he can take charge of training on June 16. If he is the man for the job then his arrival in the UK has to be imminent.

What a sorry mess this all is at the moment. Nearly 100 days after Neil Lennon left the club, we’re having to look at Government guidelines to check when a potential new manager might be able to start his job.
