It’s been mere hours since the collapse of a deal many of us thought was done weeks ago.
The Eddie Howe to Celtic saga came to an astonishing end when the deal collapsed on Friday.
Celtic gave us their side of the story which you can read in full here.
The long and the short of it comes down to the backroom team and some of them not wanting to relocate to Glasgow. It seems like an astonishing sticking point because surely Eddie sounded these guys out weeks ago.
Eddie’s side look like they’re talking to English journalists about the failed move and they’re putting it down to Celtic not being able to land the coaches he wanted and Howe was not impressed by the recruitment policy.
As per some reports in Scotland, looks like Eddie Howe to #CelticFC is off. His personal terms have been agreed for a while but was subject to getting the backroom staff he wanted which Celtic have been unable to deliver. He wasn't overly impressed with recruitment plans either.

This would also make little sense because if he wasn’t impressed with recruitment why did he accept the job?
What seems to be clear is Eddie agreed to be the next Celtic manager as long as he could get his team into place so trashing recruitment now seems like a bit of a reach.
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle here but to be honest, Celtic not getting a deal down for Eddie and having something in black and white was criminal.
It should never have been allowed to happen.
