It’s good news for Celtic as Odsonne Edouard keeps his place in the France under 21 side for the final stages of the under 21 Euros.
The Frenchman has been a revelation for his country since moving up to the under 21s – becoming the most prolific striker in the history of the French U21 side.
The team was announced today and Eddy will spearhead the attack.
Goalkeepers: Dimitry Bertaud (Montpellier), Alban Lafont (Nantes), Illan Meslier (Leeds United)
Defenders: Benoît Badiashile (Monaco), Colin Dagba (PSG), Wesley Fofana (Leicester City), Ibrahima Konaté (RB Leipzig), Dayot Upamecano (RB Leipzig), Pierre Kalulu (AC Milan), Faitout Maouassa (Rennes), Adrien Truffert (Rennes)
Midfielders: Houssem Aouar (Lyon), Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes), Maxence Caqueret (Lyon), Romain Faivre (Brest), Youssouf Fofana (Monaco), Boubakary Soumaré (Lille), Aurelien Tchouaméni (Monaco)
Attackers: Moussa Diaby (Bayer Leverkusen), Odsonne Édouard (Celtic), Amine Gouiri (Nice), Jonathan Ikoné (Lille), Randal Kolo Muani (Nantes)
It can only be good news for Celtic, the striker is firmly in the shop window and if he bangs in a few more goals then the club can up their price for the French forward.
Eddy has always performed very well for his country and even though he didn’t have a great season with Celtic, he was still the Hoops top goalscorer.
Over the piece, Edouard has been absolutely outstanding for the Hoops but the club must not sell themselves short with regards to a transfer fee.
Even though Edouard only has one year left on his deal, we should be asking for a sizeable fee from any club that wish to take him away from Glasgow.
