Chairman Shuts down Rumour Involving Celtic Star

Aberdeen Chairman Dave Cormack has dismissed claims he and the board have already offered the job to Stephen Glass.

This has implications for Celtic because Glass has been reportedly looking to bring in Scott Brown as an assistant manager should he land the Pittodrie gig, reported by RecordSport.

Speaking about the manager’s position directly via Twitter to the Aberdeen fans, Cormack confirmed NOBODY has been offered the job, shutting down the Stephen Glass rumours.

“When we’re finished here I’ll be spending time with the board members to go through the applications and the approaches we’ve made ourselves over the last week.

“Just to make it clear to everyone, not one person has been offered the job or guaranteed the job.

“No one I know of is isolating at the Crowne Plaza in Aberdeen. I didn’t even know there was a Crowne Plaza in Aberdeen.

“We will go through a process and it will take us as long as it takes. It might take two weeks – it might take longer. But it’s a process we have to go through.

“People that know me know I’m a real process guy and it’s important we go about it.”

Celtic have yet to publicly say if they will keep Scott on beyond the summer and everything is being driven by rumours.

The Hoops legend’s current deal is up at the end of this season and his terms would surely be vastly reduced from his current contract.

There are so many variables at play before we can see Broony staying or going. It will certainly be a massive decision for the captain whatever he decides. Seeing him lining up for Aberdeen as a player coach would be so jarring if it was to happen.
