Celtic Set to Secure Pre-Contract Championship Deal

DOM HOWSON of Yorkshire live is reporting Celtic have snapped up Sheffield Wednesday youngster Liam Shaw on a pre-contract deal which will see the player come in this summer.

After the whole Ben Davies fiasco when Sky Sports reported he had signed a pre-contract for Celtic when it wasn’t the case, we’ll reserve absolute confirmation until the club give the move the green light.

However, Liam has been on the Celtic scouting list for some time and it’s a deal the club have been looking to do in recent months.

Liam’s running down the last part of his contract with the English club with Celtic only needing to pay a nominal developmental fee if a deal has been struck.

The 19-year-old midfielder has played 15 times for Wednesday this season and played at the weekend for his club.

If Celtic have made this signing, we wonder who has given the go ahead, does this mean Neil Lennon has a say in transfers at the moment?
