Dermot Desmond Making Big Plans; Chris Sutton Makes Dave King Prediction

Popular pundit and former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has said he expects Dermot Desmond will be making ‘big plans’ to get Celtic back to the top after what has been a disastrous season for the Hoops.

Writing in his column for the Daily Record, Sutton thinks that the Celtic majority shareholder will be making big plans in the background similar to as he did in hiring Brendan Rodgers, due to the Scottish Cup semi-final loss in 2016.

“Dermot Desmond will be making plans to take Celtic back to the top.

“Whatever they are, I’ll bet he’s just upgraded them as Dave King’s words filtered into his ears.

“I would imagine King’s celebratory chat about Celtic folding like a pack of cards and talk of uncorking bottles of wine from 1872 will have had Desmond taking a large sip of whatever is in his cup at the dinner table and tightening his resolve.

“Supporters at Parkhead once unveiled a banner in a corner of the stadium which warned against their club sleeping at the wheel.

“Effectively, that is what King has just accused Desmond and Peter Lawwell of doing.

“His chat about Celtic not making use of their resources properly will be like a red rag to a bull.

“Put it this way, if it’s not, it should be.”

Over the last few months, fans have been left frustrated by the lack of action from Dermot Desmond and the board so you would have to hope a big rebuild with plans ahead is on the way.

After such a poor season, it is the least you expect and it seems to have started well with the appointment of new CEO next season Dominic McKay.

A huge appointment would go a long name mending the relationship with the fans so Desmond has to act on this and try to push the boat out with a new appointment for next season.
