Late last night Twitter went a bit crazy when reports from the Mirror started to suggest that former Liverpool and Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez could be close to getting the role.
However, conflicting news has come out this morning from multiple journalists saying the exact opposite, including Sky’s Guillem Balague.
Rafa Benitez to Celtic? There was interest in him but not an option today

He's going to rest for a bit, despite offers (from Germany, also a national side…)
By the way, about Celtic: there is a false document doing the rounds (check the phone number 😂) https://t.co/X40LCU1riq
Benitez seems to be the dream for Celtic fans alongside Eddie Howe as a replacement for Northern Irishman, Neil Lennon.
It certainly looks ambitious but in all honesty, it should be targets that the Celtic hierarchy are looking in to.
Currently, it looks a formality that Lennon will be replaced come now or the end of the season after an incredible poor run of form which has found is stuck 23 points behind in the league.
The man who comes in next appears to have a massive job on their hands with a huge rebuilding job ahead for the future for the club.
