Neil Lennon Hands Out Celtic Ban; Will Club honour It?

NEIL LENNON has effectively banned Sky Sports from interviewing him or any of his players until further notice or until he gets an apology from Andy Walker.

The Celtic manager was irate Andy branded the Dubai trip as a ‘jolly’ and believes the club has been misrepresented by Walker and his lies on Sky Sports TV.

The pair have never got on and have regular verbally sparred in the press.

For the most part, Celtic fans don’t have much time for Walker who has for the most part, tried to find every negative going during the four trebles which have been won.

Celtic fans are conflicted because most don’t agree with the trio and have already lived the consequence of the decision to go.

What Neil Lennon is getting at is his players were portrayed as being out on Holiday for a week when the snaps which circulated on the first day of their trip was their only day off and they were having some down time.

Walker categorising the whole thing as a holiday and demanding an apology on behalf of the Celtic support has not gone down well with the Irishman.

“What I want is for you to go speak to Andy and for Andy to apologise because he was demanding apologies from the club. I want an apology from Andy because he is questioning my professional integrity, my players professional integrity and the use of the word term ‘jolly’ is quite crass and arrogant.” The Celtic manager told GlasgowLive.

“He accused the club of being arrogant, we weren’t. We had no intention of being arrogant or rubbing it in anyone’s faces. We went out to do a good week’s work and get a volume of work we wouldn’t have got here in Scotland. Until then, you won’t be getting anything from me or my players.

“Who is Andy speaking for then? Does he speak for the Celtic support? Is he all of a sudden a man of the people? Challenging the club’s social ethos. Andy has been in the game here for 20/30 years and he’s made no contribution to Celtic whatsoever.”

We will now see if the club will stick by Neil in his promise not to give interviews to Sky Sports. The broadcaster is covering the Livingston game on Wednesday night when there should be a pre and post match interview with the manager.
