Celtic Scout Spotted at Premiership Clash

Celtic’ chief of recruitment, Nicky Hammond was yesterday spotted taking in Scottish Premiership action in Paisley as he attended St Mirren’s fixture against Motherwell.

As reported by Sun Sport, it is thought that Hammond was there to take in Motherwell defender Declan Gallagher who has started to be mentioned as a possible defensive target for Celtic.

The Hoops have recently been linked with a few central defensive targets, as the likes of Mark McKenzie and Filip Benkovic were mentioned. But with these players moving to other clubs, some fans think Gallagher might be the target that the club turns too eventually and with Hammond in attendance yesterday, it does suggest that.

Many fans on social media have suggested that we should be looking for better than Gallagher, who has this season captained Motherwell and also helped Scotland make their first international tournament in over 20 years.

As we get deeper and deeper into transfer window without any movement in the defensive area, it begins to look ever more likely that a move will be made for the Well centre back, who is coming into the final six months of his contract.
