Kristoffer Ajer Update

NORWAY boss Lars Lagerback has not ruled out using Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer playing for his country during the international break, but at least concede’s right now it doesn’t look likely.

Kristoffer made a quick recovery from a groin injury to take his place against Motherwell on Sunday but he had to come off in the second half after he aggravated the injury.

The Celtic star is now a big doubt for Norway but instead of completely ruling him out, Lagerback seems to be working off the basis he might be fit.

“We do not know for sure. We have only had audio contact so far.” Lagerback admitted to SunSport.

“We do not know how serious it is. He is not completely negative himself, but could not play a game today at least.”

It would be good news for Celtic if the injury wasn’t too serious but was enough to see Kris sit out the games for Norway.

It would be in the club’s best interests to see the defender stay behind at Lennoxtown for treatment so he could have the best chance of playing straight after the international break.

The bhoys need all their top players up to speed and playing on an injury for his country wouldn’t be the best idea.
