Celtic have been handed a boost ahead of next months Europa League tie against Sparta Prague in Czech Republic.
As reported by the Daily Record, the Czech league has been shut down for around two weeks and will not restart until the 3rd of November, just three days before our game in Prague, due to the current state of emergency in the country.
That means, going into the game, Sparta will have played just two games in around a month, against Lille and AC Milan.
Going into the doubleheader against the Czech giants, the hoops will feel this is their best chance of getting points on the board, despite Sparta being the Pot two side in this group.
With little to no preparation, in terms of game time, this could play into the hands of Neil Lennon’s side. It may mean that our opponents are slightly rusty without any league action between now and then.
Fingers crossed this is the case because, at this point, we need to take advantage or anything we can in this group if we are looking to advance against some top European sides.
