‘Ridiculous.’- Sutton Slams Group of Celtic Supporters

CHRIS SUTTON believes it’s too premature to be calling for Neil Lennon’s head as Celtic manager but does concede the next run of games are vital for is old pal as they get set to embark on a tough away day fixture list in the SPFL. Not only that but there will be Europa games sprinkled in among those vital ties.

The BT pundit branded anyone calling for Neil Lennon’s sacking at this point as ‘ridiculous’. Chris believes the Celtic boss has earned the right to turn things around and the fixtures coming up will determine where he lands.

“The next six games are make or break for him. If there are more major setbacks or the team doesn’t get into gear in that period, my old team-mate is going to be under big pressure and serious questions will start to get asked.” The pundit wrote in his RecordSport column.

“I do feel it is ridiculous for people to be calling for his head at the moment. That’s unfair. He’s earned the right to find the response. But what is not ridiculous and perfectly fair is to ask serious questions about what is going on at the moment or to suggest it simply cannot continue in this vein much longer if want to win the 10. They can’t let Rangers get away and open a big gap.”

It wasn’t just the result, but the performance on the day which was so hard to take. The bhoys were sleepwalking into defeat.

It wasn’t an isolated game in that respect, the bhoys have struggled to get up to scratch this term. Finding it very difficult to break down opponents but ultimately finding a way.

Saturday was a natural conclusion to our on the field form up to that point. There has to be a reboot and there’s no January break or respite to get something going.
