EA Sports Get it Badly Wrong: Celtic Squad Verdict

It’s that time of year again when we all get to have a good moan about how EA rate our players with the fresh instalment of FIFA just around the corner.

We put the game up there with how Sky Sports tend to treat Scottish football; they include us, but they really can’t be bothered delving into the league and really get a feel for the teams.

It shows in the ratings again this year, Shane Duffy has automatically become our joint top player in the game, this happens when a Premier League player drops into a Scottish club usually. James Forrest and Ryan Christie are rated better overall than Odsonne Edouard – go figure.

Here are the full squad ratings:

Callum McGregor – 77

Shane Duffy – 77

James Forrest – 76

Mo Elyounoussi – 76

Vasilis Barkas – 75

Ryan Christie – 75

Scott Brown – 75

Christopher Jullien – 75

Odsonne Edouard – 75

Olivier Ntcham – 73

Kristoffer Ajer – 73

Tom Rogic – 73

Scott Bain – 72

Leigh Griffiths – 72

Hatem Elhamed – 72

Albian Ajeti – 72

Greg Taylor – 72

Jeremie Frimpong – 70

Mikey Johnston – 70

David Turnbull – 69

Nir Bitton – 69

Ismaila Soro – 68

Patryk Klimala – 65

Anthony Ralston – 65

Karamoko Dembele – 64

Conor Hazard – 64

We haven’t played this year’s game yet but reviewers who we trust have claimed the game has subtle changes on this generation of consoles and is very like the last version which has been deemed one of the worst iterations of the game in quite some time.

Ultimate team is always the selling point and it’s a financial bonanza for EA year after year. We await to see what will come when the PS5 and XBOX next gen consoles hit the market.
