More Bad Luck for Maryan Shved

Shved missed the chance to come up against another loan Celt in Jack Hendry at the weekend because he couldn’t get a flight back from Ukraine.

The winger was supposed to play some part in the tie between KV Mechelen and Oostende at the weekend. However, after being allowed to return to Ukraine during the International break, the Celtic loanee couldn’t get a flight back to Belgium in time.

He then had to hire a car and drive all the way back and missed the game completely.

The tie was won in stoppage time by Jack Hendry of all people who took his chance when it came.

Shved has been talked up a lot by the KV Mechelen manager who was very disappointed the player missed out on the game but explained why to RecordSport:

“His flight was fully booked so he had to take the car to Belgium. He only arrived last night.”

Shved has not managed a lot of game time as of yet with the Belgian Club but there’s a lot of faith he will be a big deal in time.
