It’s a low profile Parkhead exit but it is another player off the books at the club.
Connor McBride has signed a two-year deal with English outfit Blackburn Rovers today. The striker came to the club in 2018 from Falkirk’s youth system.
We’re unsure if Celtic made any moves to keep Connot at the club but at 19, he looked surplus to requirements.
👋 Welcome, Connor!

Celtic have been trimming the fat off the budget, even with lower level players since the pandemic hit. Guys like Liam Burt have been let go and even senior players like Jonny Hayes, Craig Gordon and Jozo Simunovic have fallen by the wayside.
With no sort of competitive football for young players at Celtic, it becomes a struggle to bring these lads through at the moment. Even before the pandemic, Celtic had exited the Reserve league and were reduced to playing bounce games at short notice to keep their players engaged.
We wish Connor all the best.
