CELTIC are interested in a move for West Ham striker Albian Ajeti it has emerged, a year on from their initial interest in the player.

Sky Sports report Celtic wanted to sign Ajeti last year but were priced out of a move to take him from Basel to Glasgow. West Ham signed the frontman for £8m (Transfermarkt) but he has struggled to make the breakthrough in London.

With Leigh Griffiths short of fitness and Bayo injured, Celtic have two fit strikers at the moment. If either Edouard or Klimala gets injured we’re back to a scenario we saw last season when Lewis Morgan started a Glasgow Derby cup final up front for the club.

With the number of loan deals now relaxed for SPFL clubs, Celtic now have some extra scope to bring in a few more loan players to bulk up their squad this season.

Can they land Ajeti in a Moi-esk type deal? Ajeti is 23-years-old and has 10 caps for his country, Switzerland.
