Today, the SPFL has announced that Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell will be taking a place on the current board replacing Rangers* managing director Stewart Robertson.
After leaving a similar role last year, he will be joined by St Johnstone’s Steve Brown as well as Hamilton Accies, Les Gray to represent the Premiership after Alan Burrows of Motherwell also stepped down.

Several changes were expected to take place, after a troublesome few months in which we saw a civil war between board members around how the season should have been ended, with many accusations being thrown the way of the SPFL.
Lawwell is clearly a favourable figure and one who is known to be able to do this job, as he has returned so quickly to the role that he hadn’t long departed.
Of course, many will try and paint this as some sort of conspiracy when in reality it is just that the Celtic CEO is very good at what he does and deserves to be in such roles as this.
