PETER LAWWELL is set to be rubber stamped as a member of the SPFL board next week as the league gets set to restart.
The Celtic chief will replace the outgoing Stewart Robertson. There is an understanding in place now that Celtic and their Glasgow rivals will take turns every year to sit on the board.
Lawwell will be brought back into the fold and will be discussing all thing league related in the upcoming meeting. It was Peter who took centre stage back in May when last year’s runners up tried to hijack the SPFL agenda with a dossier which turned out to reveal no corruption, which they claimed they had documented.
Lawwell delivered an impassioned speech via zoom call to all 41 clubs when the turmoil threatened to derail Scottish football.
It’s great news for the club that Peter is back on the board for the ten in a row season.
