Moritz Bauer’s Celtic Future

Moritz Bauer has been seen back at the Lennoxtown training ground being out through his paces but with his loan deal ending imminently, the defender is set to make a return to Stoke.

Bauer came in to play back up to Hatem Elhamed but within months his place in the squad was taken by Jeremie Frimpong who secured a last minute deal to Celtic from Manchester City in deadline day.

Hatem spent a lot of his first season at the club out injured and had Jeremie not caught Neil Lennon’s eye, Bauer’s time at the club could have been very different.

With Hatem fit and Jeremie rating to go next season, there’s no room for a permanent deal for Moritz. On top of that, Neil Lennon favouring a 3-5-2 in the second half of last season put him further down the pecking order.

The right back will head back down south in search of first team football.
