Craig Gordon has revealed he has been very impressed with Jim Goodwin and St Mirren after speaking to the club about a possible move to Paisley.
Gordon is out of contract at Celtic and is currently weighing up his options. The invincible goalkeeper did confirm talks with the Premiership side but is taking his time to see where he will end up after this summer.
“Jim (Goodwin) has been absolutely fantastic with me.” Gordon told RecordSport.
“We’ve had a number of conversations and I can’t speak highly enough of him or St Mirren.
“I’ve been seriously impressed.
“I didn’t know Jim at all before he got in touch with me but he’s a great guy, a proper professional, who has made a very good offer.
“He understands I want to take my time before deciding what’s next for me. Other clubs have been in touch too and I’m expecting to have some more talks with Celtic.
“But I’ll take my time to consider what to do.
“I’m just going to wait and see what my options are.”
Many believe Gordon is waiting to see the outcome of Celtic’s pursuit of Fraser Forster. The theory being is Fraser returns there will be no chance of first-team football next term with the champions.
If the club doesn’t get the Englishman then the first team spot is up for grabs between himself and Scott Bain.
Craig won’t wait forever but he did mention he’s expected to have further talks with the club about a new deal in the coming weeks.
At this stage in his career, he wants to be playing as much as possible.
