The website is now speculating if Celtic will become an ‘elite’ Adidas club and be subject to the same treatment as the famous Adidas five; Real Madrid, Juventus, Arsenal, Manchester Utd and Bayern Munich.
Teams like Besiktas, Fenerbahce, Ajax and Lyon are internally called Adidas ‘B Clubs’ and the FootyHeadlines is estimating that’s where Celtic will fall. Unless they see huge growth and marketing potential of the Celtic brand, with special kits etc. Right now, FH put it as a 30% chance Celtic are treated like an elite club.
There is however a go-between with Flamengo getting the start treatment in South American but don’t fall under the same category as the elite 5.
It will be interesting to see how Adidas play this, Celtic’s supporter base and potential is huge but if it goes on modern football stature alone, there’s no way Celtic will be an elite club.
