The speculation has been there for a while now that Kristoffer Ajer might have kicked his last ball for Celtic.

It was days before the scheduled Glasgow Derby when his agent went public with his clients desire to move away from Parkhead. The shutdown came into play shortly after and since then it’s remained on the back burner.

Ajer has been brilliant for Celtic on the whole but this season, the bad side of his game has shone at times, especially when playing in a back three.

Celtic fans have loved the big man’s passion and many supporters seemed perplexed why Ajer would pick now to leave the club.

Football Insider claim the player and his agent are aware of the interest in him and he will be looking to push a move through this summer – Leicester and AC Milan tipped as possible destinations.

If this is true, it appears as if Kristoffer has pulled the trigger a season too early. His performances show he can become better and would benefit from another season at the club.

Such is football though, it’s all about chasing the money.
