UEFA have backtracked or at least softened their stance with regards to the hard deadline they set for leagues to let them know how they would be proceeding.
UEFA originally set a May 25 deadline for all associations to let them know if they were making plans to finish the season or it had to be called.
Now, they have been quoted as stating they would at least expect ‘some indication’ where leagues are going by that date.
Important:
Uefa backtracking on May 25 as deadline to notificate any league format changing. Now is: “UEFA would nevertheless expect to at least receive some indications as to the potential way forward envisaged by national associations and leagues by that date”

This is in sharp contrast to what UEFA were saying after their last conference with all associations.
This might give some leagues a little extra breathing space but it’s unlikely this new stance will affect the outcome of the SPFL.
Celtic have been playing a waiting game as Scottish football tries to navigate through choppy waters. If the league can’t be played to a natural conclusion then the bhoys will retain their SPFL title and celebrate nine in a row.
