Celtic are on high alert after this morning’s breaking news that PSG will be crowned champions of Ligue 1 with immediate effect.
The French side are twelve points clear of their nearest rivals, Marseille and with the government declaring no football can be played until September – they have no choice but to call winners and losers.
For a while, people who have asked for null and void have been pointing to the bigger leagues. Now we have one of the ‘top 5’ leagues calling it.

It would be poor show to not award titles to teams who can’t continue their season through no fault of their own while being so far in front.
They’ve done the hard work and PSG will be the same as Celtic and Liverpool when it comes to being disappointed the season can’t play out to its natural conclusion in front of their support.
The trigger has yet to be pulled in Scotland with regards to bringing the top flight to a close. Talks with the government next week will be pivotal and if the SNP decide to ban football for the next two or three months then Celtic will be crowned champions.
