Bargain Celtic Buy Moves into Management

Former Celtic star Didier Agathe has been confirmed as the new boss of Non-League English side Durham FC overnight.

The Martin O’Neill bargain buy has been retired in 2010. The lightning-fast wing-back spent five years at Celtic during his career and is a well known member of that great Martin O’Neill team. Celtic only paid a bargain 50k to take the player from Hibernian.

This is the former players first step into management. Up until now, Didier has been training players at his own academy in Reunion.

Durham City currently plays in division two of the northern league.

Agathe is just one of a number of players who played under O’Neill at Celtic to go into management. Henrik Larsson, Paul Lambert and of course Neil Lennon have all carved out careers in the game after hanging up their boots. We’ll not talk about Chris Sutton’s five minutes in management!

We wish Didier all the best in his new role and hopefully, it’s the start of a top managerial career.
