Manchester Utd Set to Follow Celtic’s Lead

MANCHESTER Utd are set to follow Celtic’s lead and introduce a safe standing area to the ground after a trial was given the go ahead.

Standing at football games had long been eradicated from our game and for good reason.

It was back in 2016 when Celtic became the first club in Britain to introduce a new safe standing area. Since it’s inception, the standing area has had almost positive reviews with the green brigade and other supporters creating an outstanding atmosphere in the section and throughout the stadium.

So many clubs have sent delegates to Celtic Park to have a look and even experience match day with safe standing in recent years.

The bhoys leading the way for many.

MailSport report Old Trafford are going to be allowed a small trial where 1500 seats will be turned into a standing area.

They write: Standing has been outlawed in the top two tiers of English football since the Taylor Report into the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster.

These are tentative steps being taken down south in allowing for this match day winner. When done in a safe way, it really does add something to stadiums.
