MailSport are reporting they already have the message UEFA will be sending out to their 55 associations at today’s video conference.
The message appears to be, domestic seasons must be finished by the end of June.
MailSport writes: UEFA wants the European football season to be finished by the end of June in the hope that the Champions League and Europa League can both be concluded this summer, according to reports.
Football across the continent has been shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak with domestic leagues and UEFA’s top two competitions all suspended indefinitely.
While that’s the message, we’re unsure what plans UEFA will recommend if an association can’t finish their league season by that time.
The key question is, could a Scottish football and other leagues get the league wrapped up behind closed doors in swift fashion?
Games being played two or three days apart and bribing the curtain down on the season on the field without supporters.
The alternative doesn’t seem to be going anywhere near a null and void scenario.
UEFA want leagues concluded so they can get on with scheduling the end to the Europa League and Champions League this summer.
We’ll see what comes of the meeting and what the SFA and SPFL say in due course.
