Celtic Flop Training With English Championship Side After Parkhead Contract Terminated

It has been EIGHT months since his Celtic contract was terminated by mutual consent but Youssouf Mulumbu might be on the brink of signing for a new club.

It has emerged the midfielder who was signed by Brendan Rodgers is on trial with Championship side Birmingham, hoping to win a contract and resume his football career RecordSport reports.

Mulumbu played in a very good Kilmarnock side under Stevie Clarke a few seasons back and when Celtic were looking for a Scott Brown backup, they ended up handing the player a two-year deal.

After that, the player was rarely seen in a Celtic jersey, playing less than a handful of games before Rodgers would leave and Neil Lennon would come in.

Even though he had a year left of his Celtic deal in the summer, the player and club parted ways as reported by RecordSport. There was no future for Mulumbu at Celtic under Neil Lennon. The surprising thing has been how long the player has been out of the game for since.
