Reports from the London Standard have claimed Celtic and Spurs are currently in talks over Victor Wanyama’s return to Celtic Park.
The rumours have been doing the rounds for weeks but this would appear to be the first concrete bit of news about a potential loan move.
The Standard write that the deal would be an initial loan with an option to buy at the end of the loan. Spurs would be subsidising a fair amount of the Kenyan’s wages according to the same report.
Right now, Celtic fans will be desperate to see Celtic land a player like Wanyama. While Midfield isn’t a priority, the club couldn’t and shouldn’t turn their nose up at a deal to bring the player back home.
It remains to be seen how concrete talks have been but there’s at least noises and in the immortal words of Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber ‘ So you’re telling me there’s a chance!’.
The window closes at 12pm tonight for Scottish clubs with the English window closing at 11pm.
